Simplified CMS Integration with Whole Site Delivery
Cotendo offers a quick time and resource-efficient integration process that can equip your news site with the Cotendo CDN in a fraction of the time it takes traditional CDNs. Cotendo does this via Cotendo whole site delivery, which enables all content from your current website to be easily delivered through the Cotendo CDN. Traditional content CMS's didn't anticipate global distributed delivery via CDNs, and are often problematic to interface directly to a CDN that requires a change in output structure. Unlike traditional CDNs which require static content to be partitioned into a separate CNAME, or static and dynamic content to be physically separated to allow delivery through different systems, Cotendo requires no modification of static and dynamic output from your content management systems (CMS).
Real Time Content Control
Cotendo Views are a powerful feature that allow sophisticated control over the delivery behavior to end-users, as well as the communication from users and the Cotendo CDN. Views allow you to set desired behavior with regard to static content caching at global CDN 'edge' points of presence (POPs), accelerated delivery of dynamic content, as well as CDN pass-through delivery of dynamic content without explicit acceleration. Advanced functionality allows CDN edge caching of dynamic content (that doesn't change often or user-to-user), as well as modification of HTTP header data and content meta-info. Any system changes are reflected immediately at all Cotendo delivery locations without delay, eliminating the need to work around the control lag found with other CDNs.
